MCP

There is no MCP server yet. This page is here so the plan has an address, and so nobody has to guess whether one exists.

What it would be

Model Context Protocol is a way for an assistant to call tools and read resources from a service directly, rather than scraping its pages. An atlas of placed, dated, sourced moments is an unusually good fit: the questions people ask of it — who was in this city in this decade, what happened at this coordinate, what did this person's year look like — are queries, and they already have answers here.

What it would offer

The shape it will most likely take, so the plan is legible:

• Search — the same query language the site's own box takes, including a coordinate and a coordinate narrowed by keyword.
• A place — everything recorded within a short distance of a point, grouped by person and in time order.
• A life — one person's moments, with their dates, places and sources.
• A moment — one record in full, with the citation it was built from.

Every one of those already exists as a URL on this site. That is deliberate: an MCP server here should be a second door onto the same rooms, not a second implementation that can disagree with the first.

Until then

The pages are the API. Each moment and each life has a stable address that server-renders in full, so a tool that fetches a URL gets the whole record without running any JavaScript. /sitemap.xml lists every one of them.
